Since opening our doors on 1st January 2009, business has been brisk and the Royal Golf Club has successfully hosted many prominent tournaments including the Gulf Air International Pro-Captain Challenge and the annual IADC Golf Day, one of our largest one-day tournaments boasting well over 200 competitors.

The Club’s hosting of Bahrain’s first European Tour event, the Volvo Golf Champions, from 27th to 30th January 2011 was an enormous success with the course, club house and employees receiving many accolades from organizers, sponsors and players alike.

It has now been confirmed that the Volvo Golf Champions Tournament will not be returning to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its 2012 tour, but will be included on the roster of venues for future tournaments. This difficult decision was reached following joint talks on the matter by Volvo, IMG and the European Tour, who emphasised that, while the Kingdom of Bahrain will not feature on this year's calendar, Bahrain will be on future event rosters.
